My Tacoma City Marathon

I had Tacoma City scheduled before I decided to vacation in California, thus I ran the Big Sur 13 days before this event which is a pretty quick turn around. Due to the hills at Big Sur I didn’t have a problem at Tacoma and was able to get my time down to a some-what respectable level.

I had looked forward to this as it was a maniac sponsored event and they didn’t disappoint as the pacers arrived in a limo. I felt good and ready to run and simply loved it as the day was perfect for running and I loved the course. I like the history of Tacoma, it starts by the old train station and the buildings are very interesting. Additionally there were enough parks and a nice trail along and Highway and friendly neighborhoods which kept it interesting.

This was my 3rd marathon in 5 weeks, so I was happy at the end and met Lenore Dolphin (the RD of Yakima) at the finish area and just enjoyed the day. I wish I had run the inaugural run the year before, but I had run the Capital City half and was not ready in 2007 yet. I loved the paint can medal from Parker Paint, and they sponsor so they deserve to have such on the medal, very cool! I would have qualified for the maniacs again with this run, so I guess I truly deserve to be a marathon maniac at this point!
