The marathon start and to the left I am wearting my Brooks ID club gear!

They say you are only as good as your last marathon and running Tacoma City over five was driving me crazy, so I impulsively entered my third Capital City Marathon. This was the first marathon I entered knowing I would not receive a finishers medal but they did give out a great jacket which my 17 year old snagged instantly! I considered this a very long training run for Discovery in three weeks, yes, I am a marathon maniac, no doubt!
I was 15 minutes faster then Tacoma City and less then 5 minutes slower from my 2008 run at Capital when I was still in my 40's, so I felt good about it, but.... I was on a 4:33 pace through mile 23! It was hilly and I am not running marathons one week apart very often and I tried a bit of Galloway and my body said, you are done! But I wasn't and to still get a fairly good time will tell you how close I was to an incredible day on a somewhat tough course.
I did run the last downhill mile at a ten minute clip so I redeemed myself somewhat, but all in all I can't complain. I finished my 27th marathon and I feel confident going into my last two marathons of the Spring/Summer season.
